As well as showcasing a dedicated Data and Interoperability content track, the 2024 HIMSS European Health Conference & Exhibition in Rome will present HIMSS’ highly recognized Interoperability Showcase from May 29th to 31st. Delivered in partnership with IHE Catalyst, the Interoperability Showcase is a collaboration platform that will spotlight solutions from various stakeholders, aiming to improve healthcare outcomes through standardized, interoperable health information technology.
A HIMSS Interoperability Showcase demonstrates the power of standards-based interoperability by showcasing how multiple stakeholders connect health IT to exchange and use data in real time to improve care, outcomes, health, and healthcare, while also facilitating deployment.
The Interoperability Showcase in Rome will highlight technologies aligning with the EU's vision for unleashing the potential of health data with the upcoming adoption of the European Health Data Space regulation, which will provide new requirements for health information exchange. These include a specific use case being developed as part of the EU’s Innovative Medicines Initiative, Gravitate-Health, which presents personalized patient medication information based on the International Patient Summary. Gravitate-Health’s "G-lens" integrates multimedia content and questionnaires to enhance patient understanding, treatment adherence, and overall experience.
Several participants of the Interoperability Showcase will also spotlight their solutions at the HIMSS24 Tech Leadership Stage in Rome.
"We will be talking about exemplary cross border collaborations and legislation such as the European Health Data Space, the International Patient Summary, the EEHRxF and the Global Digital Health Certification Network, and question how insights from data, greater interoperability, EHRs and HIEs, and regulation are enabling or preventing greater integration of care in the healthcare ecosystem," said Lisa Thomlinson, HIMSS Senior Director Programming & Content, EMEA region.
