HIMSS and Indonesia’s Ministry of Health are working to enhance regulations, technologies, human resources and health infrastructures as part of Indonesia’s digital health transformation.
HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) is a global advisor, thought leader and member-based society committed to reforming the global health ecosystem through the power of information and technology. The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia has created the Blueprint of Digital Health Transformation Strategy 2024, laying the groundwork for the country’s digitalization of health services to expand inclusive healthcare coverage. HIMSS has kicked off projects with the Indonesia Healthcare Corporation, Siloam Hospitals Group and Rumah Sakit Pondok Indah Group to measure their digital health maturity and capacity.
“We aim to find ways to take advantage of the acceleration of digital health that happened in part due to the pandemic,” said Simon Lin, HIMSS Vice President and Executive Director for APAC.
Southeast Asia’s largest population has benefitted from the country’s development and adoption of telemedicine amid COVID-19, including widely accessible telemedicine services. For the nation of more than 270 million people, telemedicine will continue to play an important role in the post-pandemic era.
