Celebrating Portugal’s fourth Presidency over the Council of the European Union and amidst unprecedented times for Europe’s health systems recovery, the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the Shared Services for the Ministry of Health of Portugal (SPMS, E.P.E.) have announced a partnership designed to bring together two key events that will determine the future of Europe’s digital health.
The Portugal eHealth Summit (1-2 June 2021) and HIMSS and Health 2.0 European Health Conference (7-9 June 2021) will offer a week-long programme covering key policy and implementation priorities across Europe that call for decisive actions and EU-wide alignment in maximizing the role and use of digital health in shifting to a new healthcare paradigm.
From leveraging the European Health Data Space to achieving value-based care by striking the right balance between quality, scale and sustainability, this partnership is set to build a new agenda for the health and wellbeing of European citizens. It aims to inspire those who look at Europe for policy best practices, citizen trust and lasting change. Being in the driver’s seat of Europe’s innovation, Portugal will also showcase their latest digital health solutions brought together by the Health Cluster Portugal, a HIMSS Partner Innovation Exchange member.
The events will streamline communications efforts, as well as utilise the reputable HIMSS media network and report on the learnings and actions produced, keeping the European citizen informed and involved in the ongoing digital transformation.
In the European spirit of unity and collective action, the events will offer an open platform for other European countries to link with local programmes and topics of national priority and excellence, such as the ‘Good morning from’ sessions hosted in Berlin, Amsterdam and Rome.
All are invited to take part of this innovative journey where everyone, everywhere has a role to play in building a healthier and more resilient Europe.
