Helsinki, Finland played host to the HIMSS and Health 2.0 European Conference June 11-13, displaying the latest thinking on leveraging information and technology to advance healthcare.
HIMSS President and CEO Hal Wolf took to the stage throughout the conference to share thoughts on digital transformation and redesigning care services to ensure the patient is at the center.
Wolf also shared the stage with Terri Sanders, HIMSS vice president of enterprise marketing and communications, to highlight the new vision and mission to realize the full health potential of every human, everywhere and reform the global health ecosystem by leveraging the power of information and technology, followed by a reveal of HIMSS’ new logo.
The three-day conference is a testament to HIMSS’s global reach, drawing an audience of over 2,500 delegates from more than 50 countries.
Throughout the conference, Wolf reflected on this important and transformative time in healthcare, stressing that it is not enough to simply build new technology; we must develop smart technology that works in alignment with the systems already in place, and benefits the patient first and foremost.
The country of Finland is a shining example for high quality, safe and affordable healthcare, and is renowned for its efforts in effectively and efficiently tackling the challenges within their healthcare system. These themes carried heavily throughout the conference, making it the perfect country to play host not just this year, but again at next year’s HIMSS and Health 2.0 European Conference, May 26-28, 2020.
Wolf closed the conference remarking on the great things that transpire when health technology thought leaders from around the globe gather to share and learn from one another, and reminding those who attended to carry the important key learnings from the conference back home to ensure their reach to those not able to attend.
