On Thursday, July 18, in Boston, Massachusetts, HIMSS and the Netherlands Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (Netherlands Ministry of Health) announced their joint commitment to support and advance digital health and interoperability on a global scale with the ultimate goal of improving health and healthcare outcomes.
Netherlands Minister of Medical Care and Sport, Bruno Bruins and HIMSS CEO, Hal Wolf, signed the letter of intent to focus on the delivery of high quality and efficient healthcare while improving outcomes. Through this joint effort, HIMSS and the Netherlands Ministry of Health will leverage their collective resources to advance information sharing in a standardized format to ensure patients, providers and caregivers have access to timely and useful information when and where they need it. The Ministry and HIMSS are committed to tackling the remaining challenges of standards adoption with the goal of accelerating collaborative efforts throughout the health ecosystem.
