Cleveland Clinic has been recognized as a 2022 HIMSS Davies Award of Excellence recipient, one of only eight organizations to receive it a second time.
The medical center’s notable work includes creating a digital infrastructure to recruit candidates for clinical research to gain informed consent to automate phenotyping for the Cleveland Clinic BioRepository (CC-BioR.)
Using its personal health record as the basis to engage and enlist patients, Cleveland Clinic increased its recruitment for clinical research 20-fold and significantly reduced costs. The blood and cardiac tissue samples collected will facilitate significant breakthroughs in medical research.
Cleveland Clinic also shared replicable best practice guidelines to enable marked improvements in caring for cardiac patients suffering from opioid use disorder.
Finally, the medical center detailed strategies for rapid scalable COVID-19 vaccination distribution that could be used to guide future pandemic responses.
