2. Improving Quality & Closing Care Gaps through Primary Care Rooming Redesign

To improve quality and patient care gap closure, Mercy Health redesigned the way clinical staff use the EMR to room patients in order to easily identify tasks and orders related to care gaps (data entry, screenings, etc.) needing provider review and completion during each visit, which improved efficiency within the EHR rooming workflow.

3. Improving Opioid Prescribing Practices

To improve and measure opioid prescribing behavior, Mercy Health implemented provider-facing EMR changes. In addition, Mercy Health developed an opioid analytics platform built on a tabular cube that permits evaluation of opioid prescribing behavior at the order, provider, department, specialty, market and enterprise levels.
