FHIR at Scale Task Force
An initiative convened by the ONC known as the FHIR at Scale Taskforce (FAST) brings together a highly representative group of motivated healthcare industry stakeholders and health information technology experts to identify scalability barriers and propose solutions to accelerate the industry-wide adoption of the FHIR standard at scale. This presentation provides an overview and update on these standards development initiatives that are working to identify solutions to more rapidly achieve interoperability in the health ecosystem.
ONC and Integrating the Health Enterprise USA Cooperative Agreement
To reach milestones identified in the Nationwide Interoperability Roadmap and in support of the Cures Act, the ONC announced the Integrating the Health Enterprise (IHE) USA Cooperative Agreement Notice of Funding Opportunity. IHE USA has since partnered with the ONC to identify and update IHE Profiles that support the use of FHIR, champion real-world testing and adoption by health IT developers, HL7 Developer Days, and other related activities. This partnership is also encouraging IHE USA and the broader standards community to provide continuous feedback based on lessons gleaned through profiling and real-world testing.
